Terms of Service

Effective date: November 2, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Auratope LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("Auratope," "we," "us"), and govern your use of the Auratope app and auratope.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live (18 in most US states), you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms and to any subscription purchase. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Provide accurate information and tell us about any unauthorized use.

2. What Auratope is, and is not

AI-generated content. Auratope uses artificial intelligence to read and summarize public sources. AI can make mistakes, including misreading or misattributing sources. Reports and article checks are produced automatically and are not reviewed by a person before you see them.

Analyses are AI-generated opinion and interpretation, not statements of fact. Reports, scores, labels, article checks and alerts are produced automatically using artificial intelligence and publicly available sources. They express an interpretation of public perception and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong.

Not advice. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, legal, tax, or other professional advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to take any action. Do your own research and consult a qualified professional before making decisions.

No guarantee of accuracy. We do not guarantee that any content is accurate, complete, or current. Check original sources. Content about a company, person or organization does not mean they endorse or are affiliated with Auratope. Anyone covered in a report may use our Right of Reply process.

2A. Content about real people and organizations

Reports name real companies, people, brands and organizations because they are the subject of public commentary. A report is an AI-generated opinion of how a subject is publicly perceived, based on the public sources it cites; it is not a statement that any underlying allegation is true. Scores and labels (such as an "Aura Score") summarize perception, not character, legality or financial condition. We use names only to identify the subject of commentary; this does not imply endorsement or affiliation, and we do not use anyone's name or image to advertise Auratope. We focus on companies, organizations and public figures. If a report concerns a private individual, or you believe a report is inaccurate, use our Right of Reply process and we will review it promptly.

3. Plans, subscriptions and billing

Free. The Free plan includes limited use, currently 1 report per day with the summary score and label (detailed sections are locked), and a limited number of article checks (currently 1 per day and 3 per month) showing a partial result. Follows and alerts are not included.

Pro. Auratope Pro costs US $9.99 per month (or the local equivalent shown in the app store) and currently includes full reports, a monthly allowance of new reports and article checks, and follows with alerts. Current limits are shown in the app. We may change features and limits; we will tell you about material changes in advance where required.

Auto-renewal. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm your purchase. Your subscription renews automatically each month at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. If we offer a free trial, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.

Cancellation. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device's account settings (iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro until then. Deleting the app or your Auratope account does not cancel the subscription.

Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their policies. Price changes will be communicated in advance as required by the app stores and law.

The Service, including the Auratope engine, its methods, scoring approaches, prompts, software, design, and the name and logo, is owned by Auratope LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. These are proprietary and confidential. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and its output for your own non-commercial purposes. You may share individual results with attribution to Auratope. Third-party sources and trademarks belong to their owners.

Your content. You keep ownership of what you submit (feedback, comments, pasted text). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to operate and improve the Service and to create aggregate, de-identified insights as described in our Privacy Policy.

5A. Copyright complaints

If you believe content in the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at support@auratope.com (subject "Copyright Notice") including: your physical or electronic signature; the work you claim is infringed; the material and where it appears; your contact information; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We may remove material and will terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service, users or others.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AURATOPE LLC AND ITS OWNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) US $50. These limits do not apply to liability for our gross negligence, willful misconduct or fraud, or to any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so some of these may not apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Auratope LLC against third-party claims, and related reasonable costs and attorneys' fees, arising from your misuse of the Service, content you submit, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where eligible. Before filing any claim, please email support@auratope.com describing the dispute, and both parties will try in good faith to resolve it informally for 30 days. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.

11. Apple-specific terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and Auratope, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support and is not responsible for the app or for any claims relating to it; to the extent warranties apply and the app fails to conform, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation; Apple is not responsible for investigating or defending third-party intellectual property claims; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims; send questions, complaints or claims about the app to us at the contact details in Section 13. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Your use of the app must comply with the App Store usage rules. Where these Terms are silent, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.

12. Changes and general

We may update these Terms and will post the new date here; material changes will be notified in the app or by email. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of the business. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
